Kids & Teens Strength and Conditioning in Bacchus Marsh
Most kids fitness programs fall into one of two traps, they're either too easy to be effective, or they're adult programs with a kids label slapped on them.
Our Kids & Teens Strength and Conditioning program at Art of Training is neither.
It's purpose-built for young people. Designed around how children and teenagers actually develop physically. Coached by qualified professionals who understand both exercise science and how to make training genuinely enjoyable for kids.
Your child will get fitter, stronger, and more coordinated. And they'll want to keep coming back.
Why Structured Fitness Matters for Kids and Teenagers
Screen time is up. Organised sport participation is down. And many kids are moving less than ever before.
Our Kids S&C classes in Bacchus Marsh give young people a structured, coached, and genuinely fun reason to move, and the physical foundation to perform better in everything else they do.
Here's what your child will develop:
Strength & Power — Age-appropriate resistance training that develops real strength safely, using bodyweight, light loads, and movement patterns suited to growing bodies.
Speed & Agility — Drills and movement exercises that make kids faster and more coordinated, directly transferable to any sport they play.
Cardiovascular Fitness — Structured conditioning work that improves endurance, recovery, and overall fitness without the boredom of running laps.
Confidence — There's something powerful about a kid who feels physically capable. Strength training builds that in a way that sticks.
Healthy Habits — The kids who start training young tend to be the ones who stay active as adults. We're not just building fitness for now, we're building a relationship with movement that lasts a lifetime.

What a Kids S&C Session Looks Like
Warm-Up & Movement Prep — Fun, energetic games and movement drills that get kids physically and mentally ready. This is one of their favourite parts.
Skill and Strength Block — The coach introduces a focus for the session — a movement pattern, a strength exercise, or an athletic skill. Kids learn it properly before they load or progress it.
Conditioning — Structured intervals, team challenges, or circuit work that builds fitness and brings the energy of the session to a peak.
Cool Down — Breathing, mobility, and reflection. A chance to wind down and feel proud of the work they've done.
Every session is coached. Every child is progressed at the right pace for them.
Who It's For
Our Kids & Teens S&C program in Bacchus Marsh is open to:
-
Kids aged 5–7 — shorter, more play-based sessions focused on movement fundamentals and enjoyment
-
Kids aged 8–15 — more structured skill development and progressive training
-
Teenagers 16+ — more advanced programming with appropriate loading and athletic development focus in our senior class
No experience or fitness base is required. We meet every child where they are and build from there.
This program is also excellent for:
-
Kids who play team sports and want a performance edge
-
Kids who aren't into team sports and need an activity that suits them
-
Teenagers who want to start strength training safely and correctly

A Note To Parents
Teenagers are often curious about strength training but have nowhere safe and coached to start. Commercial gyms aren't set up for them, and YouTube is full of advice that ranges from unhelpful to genuinely harmful for developing bodies.
Our teenage S&C program gives them structured, professional coaching in a positive environment, with the right progressions, the right technique, and coaches who understand how to motivate young people without pushing them in the wrong direction.
If your teenager wants to get stronger, faster, and more athletic, this is where to start.
Does Kids S&C Help With Other Sports
Absolutely — and this is one of the most common reasons parents enrol their kids.
The athletic qualities developed through our program, speed, power, agility, coordination, endurance, and injury resilience, transfer directly to football, netball, basketball, swimming, athletics, and virtually every other sport.
Many of our junior members train S&C alongside their chosen sport and see noticeable performance improvements within a few months.
FAQs
Is it safe?
This is the first question almost every parent asks — and it's the right one.
Yes. Safety is our highest priority. Kids & Teens S&C is incredibly safe, we focus on teaching our students how to move well rather and when doing any sort of lifting, it is appropriate to the students age and ability.
Our coaches are trained to work with children. The environment in our gym is positive, respectful, and inclusive. Bullying and rough behaviour have no place here.
What Your Child Needs to Get Started?
For their free trial class, your child just needs:
-
Comfortable athletic clothing (shorts and a t-shirt)
-
A water bottle
-
Running shoes
What age can my child start?
We start at age 5, however, if you have an active, attentive and focused 4 year old, let us know. We offer trials to younger students.
What if my child is shy or nervous?
This is very common and our coaches are experienced at helping nervous kids settle in. We'd encourage you to come and watch the free trial class, most shy kids surprise their parents within the first 15 minutes. Others sometimes need a session to watch before joining in, we have plenty of students training with us who were incredibly shy on session number 1 - 14 years later one of them now coaches our kids classes!
